The Princess and her muscle-y protectors.

Kier and I were trying to get Cade to do a Clay Mathews pose. Kennedy had no idea what was going on.

Kennedy Windsor Delaney was born at 3:42 p.m. on March 20, 2013. She weighed in at 9 lbs., 7 oz. and measured 20 inches long. Things went smoothly, if not very quickly, during delivery. As is our way, Kennedy was whisked away to NICU due to having a tachypnea (fluid in her lungs), hypoglycemia, a heart arrhythmia and to top it all off trouble with her body temperature.

Within 24 hours she was cleared of the heart arrhythmia and hypoglycemia. 48 hours later her body temp has stabilized and her breathing is nearly 100%. Now, we wait on a few more tests and hope to take our girl home tomorrow (which will still be faster than either of her brothers).

Kier and Cade are not happy about Mom and Dad being gone so much but the hospital can be fun too ...

The Hair

Lately I have been hearing that now that we are having a girl I can cut Kincade's hair. So I wanted to go on record for Cade as much as for me to say it's not the hair.

I like the juxtaposition of the long golden locks and his brutish act-first-and-only-ask-questions-if-it-doesn't-work mentality. That, and if he wants to follow Clay Matthews and play for the Pack, I would be cool with that.

(this is also my test of cell phone blogging, it may very well revolutionize this blog.)

Merry Christmas

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Yes, I'm a terrible slacker.

It is nearly Thanksgiving, I have not posted to the Blog since last Christmas. I am a bad person. I got it.

Lots and lots has happened to our little family since the last post. Some of it good, (our little family is getting bigger) some of it bad, (the loss of both of my Grandfathers). Nonetheless, we keep moving forward and the boys keep getting bigger and bigger. I have added a couple web albums to the list so you can see how big they are getting.

Baby Boettcher-Burke No. 3, or Tres, is scheduled to join us around April 7, 2013, but knowing our little ones expect him/her a couple weeks early. We had an early sonogram a few weeks back to try and find out the brand of munchkin we are having but Tres was not cooperative and the doctor said it was probably to early to tell anyway. So, we will have to wait another few weeks to find out if we are having a boy or girl.

I will endeavor to post more, but I have said that before.

Christmas 2011

If you have not already taken a look at the Web albums (link at the top left) I invite you to do so. I have loaded 2 albums so far and have another to go.

As you can see we went to Mimi and Poppi's house in Arizona for Christmas this year. The flight out was uneventful (Kiernan is a pro at this flying thing) except that we were all congested and battling a cold. Unfortunately, the cold combined with the flight caused Kincade to get an ear infection and nearly made his Dad cry because he couldn't equalize the pressure in his ears.

The day after we landed in Phoenix, Mimi and Poppi had a special surprise for all of the kids. We all loaded into the cars and drove to Williams, AZ which is northwest of Flagstaff up in the snowy mountains. We had tickets to ride the Polar Express! Kiernan, Kincade and their cousins Elli, Bryce and Senna had a wonderful time. Cade even woke up in time to see Santa come through the train to give each child their silver bell.

We got Cade into a pediatrician on Friday and started the antibiotics immediately. Thus, Christmas morning was surprisingly relaxed with the kids getting started on their stockings around 8:00 am. That kept them busy until the rest of the family could get to the house and have a cup of coffee.

However, what was two suitcases on the flight out became 5 on the trip home. I'll leave Tyf to tell the story of the bus driver at Austin Bergstrom Airport, but needless to say he asked if we had gone over-seas for christmas.
