Thanksgiving post teaser

Thanks for my new hat, Mimi!

Although I hear his momma tried, in vain, to talk Kiernan out of his headgear selection I don't think a better hat could have been found.

Full post soon...

It's a BOY, again! Bwahahaha!!

Soon I will have a filibuster proof majority, considering Mom's technically get two votes.  Sometime in late February or early March our second little boy will arrive giving the males in the household the necessary votes.  See the joy of boy-ness below.

Just for Fun

Kier enjoys kicking back and reading in his Spiderman chair.

Master-Mechanic Kier replaces the motor and front bumper with a nut-driver extension and a peice of bubble-gum. While only using one hand and keeping his Longhorn shirt free of grease.

Ridgebacks, Ridgebacks Everywhere! ... and a lab.

Hello folks, sorry for the delay but, I waited so long to post that I NEEDED to get the new baby announcement out before anything else. We have been a very busy little bunch. The trip to Wisconsin was great. Average high of 78, average low 61... That's right, no triple digits hard to beat that. Beyond the wonderful weather we had a relaxing and belt-loosening time. We drove all over the peninsula.  We visited, Fish Creek, Sister Bay, Sturgeon Bay, Ephram, Sevastopol, Egg Harbor, and Gill's Rock.  But we made our home base in Baileys Harbor.  We visited Bob McGurdy who taught me how to carve, and I got some blanks and tips. So, with a little spare time, and band aids, I'll have some work I can post about.  However, for me the key to the trip was the food.

The "hungry man breakfast" with 2 "big as Lake Michigan" pancakes and a host of assorted meats at the Sandpiper, the fried perch at The Sister Bay Bowl, stuffed french toast and corn beef hash at the White Gull Inn, and finally the Walleye sandwich and lots of Leinenkugel at Weissgerbers. Yeah, had to buy new pants. And lets not forget the beer. New Glarus Breweries Spotted Cow and Fat Squirrel were favorites along with the ever-present Leini Red. The scenery was nice too.  Oh, and Kiernan is an official CheeseHead!
After, the gastric delights of the great north we turn right around and head south. The weekend following our trip to Wisconsin the family (this time including the ridgies) went down to Austin. As seen from the photos in "Kiernan's web albums" we had a ridgeback family reunion.  Of the 8 pups 4 were able to come and visit their Mom, Dad and siblings.  It was a great time.  So good in fact we have already decided to make it a yearly event.  So be on the lookout for more Ridgie fun on August 16th, 2011.

Captain Krunch is gonna be a big brother!

Alright, well I can't get the sono pictures to show, technical difficulties and all. I'll work on getting those and the web album of our Wisconsin pictures loaded.
But, the BIG NEWS is that Tyf and I are expecting another little monkey. We are 14 weeks along. That gives us an estimated due date of March 4, 2011. We are very excited and feel very blessed. Kiernan has been such a good little monster we couldn't wait to add to our family. More info to come.
Thanks Mike, I was just testing to see who was paying attention.

Getting Ready!

I know I have been promising updates and have yet to really deliver. This will be no different. Well there will be some updating... so there's that.

7:00AM Friday morning Tyf, Kiernan and I will be hopping a jet-plane to Wisconsin. We will be in the land of dairy for the weekend. Well, Tyf and Kier will be there for the weekend, Dad gets to stay in Milwaukee until Wednesday for an All Attorney Meeting for his firm. The fun stuff will happen over the weekend though.

We have booked a room at Nelson's, the local hardware/everything store, in Bailey's Harbor. Yes they have rooms for rent as well. For those of you who don't know Bailey's Harbor is where my Grandma & Grandpa Applewhite had their lake house, right there on lake Michigan. Since before I was ever a glimmer in my folks eye's the family has been spending time in Bailey's Harbor. First at the Spikehorn campgrounds then at the house. I haven't been back since the house was sold about 7 years ago, so I'm very excited to wander Door County and show my family all the fun places I remember visiting all those summers.

Pics, Videos, and BIG NEWS when we return!

Baby picture overload!

Fiona's been at it again! Obviously, the hour before his naptime was not the time to try to get a smile from this little monkey but you gotta admit this is one cute little boy!

Kier goes to the Zoo!

Alright, enough already we're updating. We're updating....

Yes, the last post was a picture of a foot of snow and this one features Kiernan in shorts and a tee-shirt. We got busy. Have you ever gotten busy? Well it happened to me. I won't let it happen again. Until next time, and I'll be sorry then too.

Moving on...

Kiernan's Aunt Tammie, Uncle Brent and Cousin Bailey came up to Fort Worth to visit this last weekend. We had a great time going to the Keller Crawfish Crawl and the Fort Worth Zoo. Kiernan loved the Kangaroos as seen above. They also liked him quite a bit. But Kiernan's real favorite was the White Tiger. (To see that picture you'll have to ask Uncle Brent.) I of course forgot to take our camera and was forced to take all of my photos with my BlackBerry. As you can see from the picture above the BlackBerry has a pretty decent camera, so I wasn't in too much trouble with Mom. All had a wonderful time and slept well that afternoon, especially Dad.

Kiernan is doing very well. He is walking and at times running like a champ. Dad has taught Kiernan a new game which we have named "Bonsai!" The game is very simple, you get Kiernan's attention raise your arms and yell "Bonsai!" Kiernan will then look for the nearest dog-bed, or pillow, run at it full speed and crash. Laughing the whole time, he will roll over into a sitting position and raise his hands in the air mimeing your "Bonsai!" and letting you know that he has completed his mission. Occasionally he will do this without prompting and the arm raise will be your signal to yell "Bonsai!" in honor of a well executed crash. Mom questions the intelligence of this game, but Dad persists.

We hope you are all doing well. More updates will follow... probably.
